About Us & Our Tutors

Sia Goutzas, our Principal and Founder, brings a wealth of experience as a dedicated Secondary Mathematics teacher and mother of three daughters. Renowned for her organisational skills and inspirational leadership, Principal Sia ensures that our centres provide an environment where both students and teachers can flourish and develop confidence.

Fun Fact! Principal Sia’s three daughters, who all attended MWNS tuition from Kindy through to Year 12, now play integral roles in the business, contributing to teaching, administration, and marketing efforts.

Beginning her teaching career in a conventional school setting, Principal Sia observed the diverse learning speeds and styles among students. Motivated by this insight, she founded MWNS in 2003, committed to delivering customised lessons that address individual learning preferences.

Leveraging her classroom teaching experience and Bachelor of Education Degree, Principal Sia fosters an environment at MWNS where students feel encouraged to inquire, tackle challenges, and pursue their educational aspirations with assurance.

At MWNS, we define a qualified teacher as someone who has successfully completed training accredited by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), which includes degrees or diplomas from reputable institutions such as University or TAFE.

The majority of our teachers are either fully qualified or actively pursuing qualifications through recognised avenues. While a minority may not hold formal credentials, they have demonstrated exceptional tutoring expertise and have met the rigorous standards established by Principal Sia prior to joining our team.

You can conveniently address most aspects of your child’s tuition directly with their tutor before or after their scheduled lesson in the waiting room. Our tutors are readily available to discuss any concerns and provide insights into your child’s progress and learning objectives.

For administrative inquiries, assistance beyond tutoring hours, or sharing documents such as school reports or specialist learning plans, we recommend reaching out to your Centre Manager via email or phone. They’ll be happy to assist you promptly.

Assessments

Our assessments have been designed to assess a cross-section of the Year 7 English syllabus, providing parents and our teachers with a comprehensive understanding of a student’s ability. Naturally, we cannot assess the entire syllabus in excessive detail in a single assessment, however, it does cover a broad range of skills and outcomes.

1 hour. During this time, parents are welcome to relax in our waiting room, enjoy the local cafes and shops or return back to the centre after an hour.

Yes you do! Our Curriculum Coordinator will mark the assessment and writes a summary report. This report will be emailed to parents within a week of the assessment being completed.

Our assessments offer a precise snapshot of your child’s academic performance, enabling you to make informed decisions about their educational journey. Whether you seek to address specific areas of concern or simply gain peace of mind, there’s no obligation to enrol in tutoring services, regardless of the assessment outcome.
